ITHACA, N.Y, - The Cornell women's tennis team will play its first home match of the season this weekend, hosting Boston University in the Reis Tennis Center on Saturday, Feb. 1 for an 11 a.m. match. Its the Big Red's last match prior to the ECAC Indoor Tennis Tournament hosted by Columbia University on Feb. 7-9.
Cornell is 0-4 in dual matches this season, but has shown consistent improvement in each match. The Big Red were defeated by Syracuse, 5-2, last weekend, but took the doubles point and a match in singles play. The doubles pairings of

Fatima El Ashram each picked up their first wins of the season, with Ho/Adiaconitei taking down the #48 doubles pair in the country. Adiaconitei was a winner at No. 3 singles beating Sofya Treshcheva in three sets (6-4, 5-7, 11-9).
Prior to the match against Syracuse, the Big Red lost three matches in Florida (UCF, 7-0; USF, 7-0; North Florida, 6-1). Cornell aims to take home its first dual victory of the season this weekend. The Big Red trails Boston in the all-time series, 4-0, dating back to the 1991 season.
Boston has gotten off to a strong start in 2020, defeating both Binghamton and Bryant by 7-0 tallies. Erica Di Battista is the team's overall leader in wins this season owning an 11-1 record and is 2-0 at the No. 1 singles position. In total, Boston owns a 53-28 overall record in singles play this season, including wins in fall tournaments. In dual matches, the Terriers are 5-1 in doubles, dropping just one match at No. 1 doubles in the dual against Bryant.
