ITHACA, N.Y. — The men's squash team wrapped up its regular season with a 9-0 loss to top-ranked Harvard on Saturday's Senior Day match at Belkin International Squash Courts.
Cornell wraps up its season 5-10 overall and 1-6 in the Ivy League. The Big Red is unlikely to move significantly from its current standing of 12th in the College Squash Association's national rankings. That makes the squad a likely candidate to be placed in the field for the Hoehn Cup, which is the 'B' flight of the CSA's National Team Championships. Those matches are scheduled for Feb. 28 to March 1 in Boston.
Harvard swept all 27 games in scoring matches Saturday. The closest Cornell came to winning was with sophomore Nicholas Göth Errington's battle into extra points in the first game at No. 5. The Big Red has now defeated Harvard just twice in 51 all-time meetings.
Saturday also featured a ceremony to commemorate the final home matches in the careers of
Max R. Mailman,
James Paolella and
Jared Scherl. For information on the Big Red's schedule for the Hoehn Cup will available a few days before the start of the event.
