ITHACA, N.Y. – Cornell men's hockey senior forward
Noah Bauld has been named a finalist for the ECAC Hockey's prestigious Student-Athlete of the Year Award. The annual award recognizes academic achievement, as well as accomplishments on and off of the ice of ECAC Hockey student-athletes.
Bauld is one of just three seniors on the top-ranked Big Red, filling a pivotal role as a speedy winger on one of the league's most revered checking lines. But he has proved his offensive wares several times over his 111 collegiate games to date. Most notably, Bauld was named to the 2019 ECAC Hockey All-Tournament Team while leading the Big Red in postseason scoring during its run to a finals appearance in the NCAA East Region.
Off the ice, Bauld is excelling as an Applied Economics and Management major in the SC Johnson College of Business with a 4.02 grade point average entering the spring semester. He has been named a Dyson Scholar, and he's a member of the Beta Alpha Psi Honor Society and Red Key Society. He was selected to the 2019 AHCA Scholar All-America list, and he's a three-time ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team selection.
Bauld has assisted with the men's hockey team's efforts in mentoring students at nearby Newfield Elementary School through the Red Paw program, and he's participated in a deep-clean event at Loaves & Fishes Soup Kitchen.
Bauld joins one selection from each of ECAC Hockey's other 11 programs as finalist for the Student-Athlete of the Year honor. The winner is scheduled to be unveiled March 19, during the league's championship weekend in Lake Placid.
