ITHACA, N.Y. -- Here are some notes from the Cornell football team's 49-45 loss to Brown on Saturday.

INDIVIDUAL NOTES

  • Jameson Wang became the first Big Red quarterback to surpass 100 rushing yards in a game since Stephen Liuzza was credited with 166 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries in a 39-27 loss to Fordham in Oct. 17, 2009.
  • He also became the first Big Red freshman to run for more than 100 yards in a game since Luke Hagy had 124 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries against Columbia on Nov. 10, 2012.
  • It is just the fifth time in school history a first-year player surpassed the 100-yard rushing mark in a contest (Terry Smith did so three time in 1994 in addition to Hagy).
  • Wang's is the 235th 100-yard rushing game in school history.
  • Wang also became the first Cornell freshman to account for three touchdowns in a game since Silas Nacita had four short touchdown runs against Monmouth in 2012.
  • Thomas Glover's 126-yard receiving day is his second career contest over 100 yards and ranks 62nd in a single game in school history. It is the 138th 100-yard receiving game.
  • It was the first game with a 100-yard rusher and receiver in the same game since SK Howard (121 rushing) and Owen Peters (110 receiving) turned the trick against Brown in 2019.
  • Jalyx Hunt's blocked punt that turned into a safety was the first Big Red safety gained since sacking the quarterback in the end zone during a 2016 contest at Colgate.
  • It was the first blocked punt by the special teams unit since Dylan Otolski against Harvard in 2018.
  • Junior Jake Stebbins tied his career high with 12 tackles and posted his third career game with double figures, surpassing 100 stops (110).
  • With his 110 passing yards, senior Richie Kenney moved into eighth place on the school's career passing list with 3,123.

TEAM NOTES

  • Four different quarterbacks threw passes against Brown. The last time four different QBs attempted a pass in an entire season was in 2014.
  • Three quarterbacks also threw touchdown passes against the Bears. The last time Cornell had three different players pass for a score in the same year was in 2014 when four different quarterbacks and five different players total had touchdown passes.
  • With 501 yards of total offense, Cornell surpassed 500 yards in a game for the first time since putting up 504 against Brown at home in 2017.
  • It is the first time Cornell posted 500 yards of offense and lost since registering 518 yards in a 34-27 loss at Fordham in 2012.
  • Prior to this game, Cornell was 80-0 all-time when scoring at least 45 points.
  • The Big Red converted on three fourth-down conversions, just one off the school record done four times previously, the last time when it went 4-for-4 at Lehigh in 2008.
  • Cornell's three interceptions were the most in a game since recording four at Penn in 2017.
  • Cornell has now scored a rushing touchdown in each game this season and in 11 straight overall, the longest streak by the Big Red since a 14-game span that included the final five games of 1995 and the first nine games in 1996.
  • With Scott Lees' five perfect PAT kicks against Brown, Cornell Cornell place-kickers have made 33 consecutive extra-point attempts. They're nearly one-third of the way to the record of 102 that began with the final game on 2004, through the 2005, 2006 and 2007 seasons and ending with a miss at Dartmouth in 2008.
  • Five different receivers have catches of at least 40 yards, the most in a single season at Cornell since 2015.
