PHILADELPHIA - The Cornell women's tennis program wrapped up play at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Northeast Regional Championship on Sunday at the Clay Hamlin Tennis Center located on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania. Three members of the women's tennis team advanced to the ITA Super Regional, which will be held Oct. 15-18 in Princeton, N.J.

Freshman Lan Mi advanced in singles play, while senior Maria Adiaconitei and sophomore Lauren Stein advanced in doubles.

In singles, Mi went 3-0 over the weekend defeating Ella Imhof of Lehigh in two sets (6-2, 6-0), Aya El Sayed of NJIT in three sets (7-6(5), 3-6, 10-8) and Chloe Brown of Rutgers in two sets (6-2, 6-0).

Doubles action saw Adiaconitei and Stein defeat the doubles pairings of Marta Bettinelli/Namie Isago of Fairleigh Dickinson (8-1), Valentina Dancenco/Sofia Kuzina of Long Island (8-7(5)) and Ting-Chieh Wei/Veronika Kulhava of Temple (8-7(4)).
