How To Watch:

•  The game against the Big Green will be broadcast on ESPN+ in the U.S. (with an option for international viewers also available through portal.stretchinternet.com).

Friday Night Redux:

•  Cornell took a two-goal lead inside 21 minutes in its Friday night game at Harvard, but the Crimson stormed back for three unanswered goals and survived a Big Red shot that hit off the post with 10 seconds left in the third period to hang on for a 3-2 victory at Bright-Landry Hockey Center in Boston.

•  Harvard came out strong with the game's first eight shots on goal before Cornell rattled off the next eight. Soon thereafter, junior forward Matt Stienburg gave the Big Red a 1-0 lead after 20 minutes with his second power-play goal in as many games.
•  Junior defenseman Sam Malinski had the primary assist on Stienburg's tally, then he got his own goal off a fortuitous bounce just 47 seconds into the second period. His shot from along the offensive blue line went wide of the net, but the puck caromed off the back wall and into the net off the skate of the retreating Harvard goaltender.
•  Moments after Cornell was thwarted on an odd-man rush at one end of the ice, Harvard immediate countered to set up Sean Farrell's breakaway goal and cut the hosts' deficit in half. Casey Dornbach scored about five minutes later to send the teams into the third period tied at 2.
•  Harvard goaltender Mitchell Gibson made 36 saves, perhaps none bigger than on freshman forward Ondrej Psenicka's shorthanded breakaway early in third period.
•  Working on its third consecutive power play, the Crimson pulled ahead for good on Farrell's controversial second goal. The goal was initially waved off because the net had come loose from its moorings, but the play was overturned upon video review.
•  Making his second straight start in goal, freshman Joe Howe made 19 saves for the Big Red.
•  The loss marked the first time Cornell has lost a game in which it held a two-goal lead since January 28, 2017 (a 4-2 home loss to Dartmouth).

Friday's Highlights:

About Dartmouth:

•  The Big Green improved to 1-2 overall and 1-1 in ECAC Hockey with a 3-2 victory over visiting Colgate on Friday night to mark the first victory in the head coaching career of Reid Cashman.
•  Sean Chisolm (#15, 1-1–2) assisted on a goal by Harrison Markell (#2, 1-1–2) with a little under 13 minutes to play to give Dartmouth a 2-1 lead, then he scored his own goal a little more than three minutes later for what turned out to be the game-winner.
•  Dartmouth started the season off with a 9-3 setback against Harvard last Friday, then surrendered three goals over the final six minutes of a 4-1 loss to visiting Connecticut a day later.
•  Sophomore forward Joey Musa (#8, 2-0–2), who scored once in each of the season's first two games, shares the early team lead in scoring with six others.
•  Sophomore Clay Stevenson (#33, 1-1, 2.03, .940) has started the last two games, making 34 saves against Connecticut and 29 against Colgate. Senior Justin Ferguson (#31, 0-1, 9.00, .757) got the nod against Harvard,
•  Cashman is in his first season as the head coach of the Big Green after two years as an assistant coach with the NHL's Washington Capitals.

The Series With Dartmouth:

•  Cornell and Dartmouth have met on 140 occasions since 1909, with the Big Red holding a wide margin in the series with a 84-50-6 advantage.
•  After its 10 consecutive victories to start the 2019-20 season, the Big Red was handed its first loss by the Big Green, 2-1, on Dec. 7, 2019 at Thompson Arena. Despite losing, Cornell held a 40-17 advantage in shots on goal.
•  One trend that has emerged in the teams' most recent meetings in Hanover are a lack of goals. Neither team has scored more than three goals against each other at Thompson Arena since the Big Red's 4-2 victory on Feb. 15, 2013.
