ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell men's basketball team set program records for points (122), field goals (49) and assists (41) in running past Keuka College 122-64 on Sunday afternoon at Newman Arena, running its record to 8-1 on the season. The Big Red had seven double figure scorers in dropping the Wolves to 0-8 on the year.
Freshman
Guy Ragland Jr. had a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds, both career highs, to lead the Big Red, which got 83 points from its bench in the contest. Cornell shot 61 percent for the game and made 14-of-32 shots from beyond the arc in breaking a 56-year-old scoring record of 116 points set against Colgate on Dec. 4, 1965. The 49 field goals surpassed the 47 made in that contest, while the 41 assists destroyed the previous mark of 31 against Harvard on Feb. 13, 2009. The victory served as the 50th on the sidelines for Big Red head coach

Dean Noll (11) in double figures for the Big Red. Of the 13 players that dressed, 12 scored, 12 were credited with at least one assist and all 13 corralled a rebound. Senior
Max Samberg had five points, a game-high seven assists and four rebounds, while Gray added six helpers and four rebounds to his scoring total. Ragland made all six of his shots, including three 3-pointers, and Williams hit 7-of-9 for a Cornell team that connected on 65 percent of its attempts after the break.Â
Keuka, which entered the game scoring 92 points per game, was ready to run with the Big Red all night and got 21 points on 7-of-15 3-point shooting by Mason VanDeMortel and 15 from Devin Milton. VanDeMortel added a team-best six rebounds, while DJ Billins chipped in five assists. Keuka made 8-of-11 3-point shots to begin the game over the first nine minutes of the contest to stay in it early, but missed 29 of its 34 attempts the rest of the way. The Wolves shot 32 percent overall, including 29 percent from beyond the arc, and were outrebounded 52-31.

First Half
• The tone was set right away, as Sarju Patel scored off the tip just three seconds into the game to get the scoring rolling.
• Keuka gave Cornell an early scare, hitting eight of its first 11 3-point shots over nine minutes to tie the game at 26-26.
• VanDeMortel hit three 3-pointers and five different players drilled one over that span.
• That was as good as it would get for the Wolves. however, as a six-point spurt triggered by two steals by Greg Dolan and baskets by the junior, as well as buckets by Sarju Patel and Isaiah Gray.
• Leading 34-29 with eight minutes to play, the Big Red launched out to a game-changing 19-0 run over 3:50 as seven different players scored during the spurt.
• The run was punctuated by a Marcus Filien steal and a breakaway dunk by Chris Manon, but also included a pair of 3-pointers by Keller Boothby.
• Gray had a team-high 11 points to lead the Big Red, while five other players had at least six points.
• The Big Red outscored Keuka 36-3 on the fastbreak and posted 11 steals with its 65 points tying a program record for points in a half..

Second Half
• The second half was more of the same and began with a Kobe Dickson dunk, but Cornell wore out the Wolves by pummeling them on the glass (28-14) and forcing tough shots.
• The Wolves shot just 26 percent from the field and 13 percent from the 3-point line (3-of-24).
• The backcourt of Nair Williams (12 points) and Darius Ervin (11) each scored in double figures after the break as the bench outscored the starters 44-13 while carrying the load.
• Max Samberg assisted on six of the Big Red's 21 baskets after halftime.
• The lead steadily grew to as many as 62, but moments before Ervin's 3-pointer with 5:28 remaining pushed the Big Red to 118 points, two more than the school's previous scoring record.

Up Next
• The Big Red will close out the first semester of classes following its contest at Virginia Tech on Wednesday, Dec. 8 at 9 p.m. from the Cassell Coliseum in Blacksburg, Va.
• It is also the first of two games this season between the Big Red and ACC teams, as it will meet Syracuse on Dec. 21 at the Dome.
• The Big Red is 38-140 all-time against teams currently comprising the ACC and will be looking for its first win over a team in the conference since topping Wake Forest 58-51 on Dec. 27, 1951 in Raleigh, N.C. in the first game of the Dixie Classic.
