ITHACA, N.Y. – Trudy Vande Berg, The Wendy Schaenen '79 Head Coach of Volleyball, has revealed the incoming class of 2025, as the Big Red roster will feature six newcomers for the 2021 campaign: Jackie Baker, Megan Bickel, Camryn Carlo, Brooke Cooper, Sammie Engel, and Jordan Quinones.
The six student-athletes hail from five different states, with two (Cooper, Quinones) coming to Cornell from Illinois. The Big Red's back row will be boosted by the addition of liberos Baker and Bickel. The front row will see increased depth in the middle blocker and right side hitter positions with Carlo, Engel, and Quinones. Pin hitter Cooper completes the strong freshman class that is poised to make an impact for the Big Red.
"We are so excited for this class to get to campus. We knew that we had to recruit some size in this class, and Caitlin Mahoney Hager did a fantastic job finding student-athletes that are great fits for Cornell and our program," said Vande Berg. "Each student-athlete brings something that we will need to continue to compete in the top of the Ivy League and help us in our quest to get back atop the conference and return to the NCAA tournament. Most importantly, each of them take their academics very seriously, are great people, and have high goals and expectations for themselves on and off the court."
