ITHACA, N.Y. – Dayna Smith, The Rebecca Quinn Morgan '60 Head Coach of Women's Basketball, has announced the addition of four newcomers to the Big Red program for the 2021-22 season.
The incoming class is forward-laden, with Jada Davis, Arianna Linoxilakis, and Summer Parker-Hall bringing a combination of size and skill that will increase Cornell's presence in the paint. Lexi Green, a dynamic guard/forward with a knack for scoring the basketball, completes the Class of 2025.
"We are really looking forward to not only what this incoming freshmen class brings to our program, but to what we can and will become as a cohesive unit," said Smith. "Coming off the pandemic year, we could not be more excited to have the opportunity to work together and build our identity as a whole. These four young women will add to the character and work ethic of our program, and we cannot wait to get started. We believe that the trust that they put in us through the recruiting process will carry over into the connections that we are able to develop as a team. We look forward to the possibilities of the season ahead and can't wait to be back on the floor together!"
Smith's talented incoming class comes from all over the country, as the newcomers hail from four different states, including California, Illinois, Massachusetts, and New York.
When combined with the four student-athletes that were due to debut for Cornell in 2020-21, the Big Red will have eight new faces to watch this season on its 14-player roster.
