The Big Red were the first on the board when freshman forward
Grace Leahy found the net off a pass from
Claire Jones. Jones's drive to the goal drew out the Princeton goalkeeper, giving Leahy an open look at the goal. Cornell maintained the 1-0 lead through the second quarter to lead at halftime.
Princeton took control of the second half, tallying five penalty corners and six shots. Princeton found it's first goal of the day in the third quarter when the Big Green APC redirected a shot from a penalty corner to tie the contest at one. The Big Red conceded a penalty stroke just over a minute that the. Tigers capitalized on to take a 2-1 lead, which they held through the remainder of the contest.
Leahy's goal was the fourth of her career.
