ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell men's polo team opened the 2022-23 season with a 13-10 win over Gardnertown on Friday evening at the Oxley Equestrian Center. The Big Red started its campaign with a victory in head coach
Anthony Condo Jr.'s debut with the men's program.
The Big Red rallied from a 6-4 halftime deficit with a seven-goal third and held the visitors off in the final chukker.
Patricio Fraga-Errecart and
Pablo Herrera each had three goals and Benito Jaramillo Samper, Santiago Valenuela and
Nick Paciorek posted two scores apiece in the win. It ended up a 9-0 run that spanned the end of the second and beginning of the fourth chukkers sandwiched around the third that turned the game around.
Cornell returns to action at Skidmore on Sunday, Oct. 16 at 1 p.m. in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
