Last Time Out

• Senior midfielder Noel Ortega, senior defender Connor Drought, and junior defender Henry Hylbert all scored second-half goals for No. 21 Cornell, aiding the Big Red to a 3-1 victory over its Central New York foe Binghamton at a brisk Berman Field on Tuesday night.

• Senior midfielder Brandon Morales also was a key factor for the Big Red, assisting on each of the final two tallies of the night.

About the Big Red

• Morales is fourth in the Ivy League for points (six goals, five assists — 17 points). Drought is also in the top 10, tied for ninth in the league in points (three goals, six assists — 12 points).

• Fifth-year senior Emeka Eneli (three goals, five assists — 11 points) and sophomore forward Alioune Ka (four goals, two assists — 10 points) also have double-digit point totals.

• Junior defender Kisa Kiingi (three goals, two assists — eight points) is one point shy of reaching the 10-point plateau, needing a goal or one assist to accomplish the feat.

• The Big Red has four players with at least 10 points this season, the first time that has happened on a Cornell squad since 2012 (Daniel Haber, Conor Goepel, Tyler Regan, and Stephen Reisert). It is the ninth time since 1947 that a Cornell team has had four 10-point scorers in the same season, joining the 1971, 1973, 1974, 1977, 1981, 1995, 1999, and 2012 teams.

Double-Digit Wins

• Freshman goalkeeper Ryan Friedberg has been the Big Red's go-to keeper this year, having started all 13 games this season. Friedberg has logged all but 11:25 of the Big Red's minutes this season, while posting a 10-3-0 record with a 1.01 goals-against average and a .675 save percentage.

• Friedberg is the seventh goalkeeper since 1978 to record 10-plus wins in a season. He joins Quinn O'Sullivan (14 wins in 1995), Hemant Sharma (11 wins in 1996), Rick Pflasterer (15 wins in 2012), Zach Zagorski (10 wins in 2014), Ryan Shellow (11 wins in 2018), and senior Brady McSwain (11 wins in 2021).

Road Warriors

• Cornell has a 25-10-1 road record dating back to 2018, good for a .708 win percentage, ranking fourth in Division I.

• The Big Red is one of six Division I schools to post a win percentage north of .700 on the road since 2018. Missouri State (.833), Washington (.743), and New Hampshire (.722) have higher percentages than Cornell, while Georgetown (.703) and Saint Mary's (.700) are those with at least a .700 road win percentage during that span.

• The 25 road victories since 2018 for Cornell are the third-most by a Division I program, trailing Washington (27) and High Point (26).

• Cornell's seven road victories are the most by any Division I program this season. Lipscomb, Penn, and Western Michigan are the lone programs with six road wins.

Having an Eye for the Goal

• The Big Red has scored 29 goals so far this year, marking the program's seventh time since 1971 that Cornell has logged at least 29 goals over its first 13 matches. It is the second consecutive year and just the fourth time in the last 27 seasons of competition Cornell has at least 29 goals over the first 13 matches.

• Dating back to 2019, Cornell has scored in 45 of its last 48 matches and in 78 of the 97 games (80.4 percent) played during John Smith's tenure as head coach at Cornell. The 80.4 percent figure ranks as the fourth-highest total by a Cornell head coach. It is the highest since Dan Wood (1971-75), the coach in which Smith's position is currently endowed for.

10-Win Plateau

• Cornell increased its already established program record for consecutive 10-win seasons to four with its 3-1 victory over Binghamton on Tuesday. The win came in the program's 13th game, marking the third time in the last four seasons of competition that Cornell has won its 10th game in the 13th match of the season (2021, 2018).

• The Big Red is one of 10 programs this season with 10 wins already on the season, joining Syracuse, Vermont, Wake Forest, and Washington (12 each), Duke, Duquesne, Lipscomb, New Hampshire, and Western Michigan (10 apiece).

High in the RPI

• In the latest updated RPI rankings through games played on Oct. 16, Cornell is ranked No. 6 in RPI. Only Syracuse, Washington, Duke, Kentucky, and Penn are ahead of the Big Red.

• The ACC (Syracuse, Duke, and Louisville) and Ivy League (Penn and Cornell) are the lone conferences with multiple teams in the top 10 in RPI.

• Cornell has already played three teams ranked in the top 15 in the RPI rankings (No. 1 Syracuse, No. 5 Penn, and No. 12 Vermont). Additionally, UC Santa Barbara (No. 30) and Colgate (No. 40) are two other teams in the top 50 that the Big Red have played in 2022.

• The Big Red has yet to play Yale, who is also currently in the top 50 in RPI rankings (No. 36).

• Of the 23 conferences that sponsor men's soccer, the Ivy League has the fourth-highest adjusted RPI. Only the Pac-12, ACC, and Big Ten are ahead of the Ivy League.

Cracking the Midseason Rankings

• Fifth-year forward Emeka Eneli was named to Top Drawer Soccer's 2022 National Midseason College Soccer Player Rankings, the organization announced on Wednesday afternoon.

• Eneli, who was ranked No. 65, is one of three Ivy League players named to the top 100 players. He joins Yale's Paolo Carroll (No. 39), and Princeton's Lucas Gen (No. 78).

• The updated rankings are a slight drop-off for Eneli, who was tabbed No. 61 in the organization's preseason rankings.

Scouting the Tigers

• Princeton enters Saturday's match with a 5-4-2 overall record and a 1-1-1 mark in Ivy League play. The Tigers are coming off a 5-0 thrashing of Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va., on Tuesday. Walker Gillespie logged a natural hat trick for Princeton, netting the Tigers' final three tallies against the Hokies.

• Ryan Clare is the lone Princeton player with a double-digit point total, logging a team-high five goals and adding an assist. Gillespie, thanks to his hat trick at Virginia Tech on Tuesday, is right behind Clare with his four goals.

• William Watson has started seven of Princeton's 11 matches so far this season, logging a 3-2-2 record with a 1.14 goals-against average and a .714 save percentage. Watson has started all three of the Tigers' Ivy League matches, posting a 1.33 goals-against average and a .692 save percentage in league contests.

Series vs. Princeton

• Saturday will be the 74th all-time meeting between Princeton and Cornell. The Tigers hold a 35-27-11 advantage in the series since the 1946 season.

• Princeton has had the upper-hand in the series as of late, going unbeaten over its last five meetings with the Big Red and is 11-3-4 over the last 17 matches, dating back to 2003.

• Cornell is seeking its first win over the Tigers since a 2-1 triumph on Oct. 31, 2015 at Princeton.
