Rease Coleman had a look at goal. The effort was saved by Penn's Frederique Wolleart to close out the period.
Both teams saw more chances in the second quarter. Penn's first penalty corner of the game was kept out of the net thanks to a defensive save by senior
Caroline Ramsey, who backed up goalkeeper
Aerin Park on the play.
The third period brought the first goal of the match when Penn was awarded a penalty stroke. The penalty stroke was scored by Gracyn Banks.
Penn found the back of the net again less than five minutes into the fourth quarter when Quaker Meghan Ward tipped in a ball from Sophie Freedman. The Big Red battled for chances, but the Penn defense kept Cornell scoreless through four.
