SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The Cornell field hockey team (6-5, 2-1 Ivy) dropped to #11 Syracuse, 5-0, on Sunday, October 9.
The Orange (12-2, 2-1 ACC) tallied two goals in the first quarter of play. The Big Red were held without a shot through the first quarter of play. Syracuse went on to score two more in the second quarter to take a 4-0 lead over the Big Red in the first half. Cornell held the Orange to just one penalty corner in the first half of play.
The Big Red held Syracuse out of the goal in the third quarter. The Big Red successfully defended against three corners in the third period.
Syracuse found the goal once more in the fourth period to seal the game, 5-0.

The Big Red next host a string of home games with a 11 a.m. matchup against #8 Princeton on Saturday, October 15 and a 2 p.m. game against Lock Haven on Sunday, October 16.
