ITHACA, N.Y. -- Cornell men's swimming and diving fell to Princeton and tied Penn at the first home meet of the year. Princeton won the dual meet 211-89, while Penn and Cornell had a perfect 150-150 tie. The Big Red tallied a top-three finish in 12 different.
Jacob Bass was the big Cornell winner on the day, tallying the one of the two Red first place finish on the day. Bass placed atop the podium in the 200 yard breaststroke, notching a time of 2:01.09. He also placed third in the 100 yard breaststroke, touching the wall at 55.97.
Jeremy Marcin was the other Big Red to earn a first place finish in 50 yard Freestyle, clocking a time of 20.90.
Cornell finished third in the 200 yard Medley Relay, swam by
Logan Holt,
Sebastian Wolff, Marcin, and
Will Taner, finishing with a collective time of 1:30.26, just .05 seconds behind Penn, who placed second in the same race. The Big Red also placed top-three in the 400 yard Freestyle Relay, when
Jack Banks, Marcin,
Joseph Gurski, and
Dominic Edwards finished at 3:02.49.
Banks tallied third in the 100 yard Freestyle, earning a time of 46.05.
Chris Kostelni finished 9:35.66 in the 1000 yard Freestyle, good for third. Similarly, Kostelni, also placed third in the 500 yard Freestyle.
Paige daCosta placed third, clocking a 50.19 in the 100 yard Backstroke.
Gurski finished second in the 200 yard Butterfly, touching the wall at 1:49.78.
Jack Valiquette also notched second in the 200 yard Breaststroke, finishing at 2:08.45.
Soodong Kim competed in the diving competition on Friday evening, placing third with a score of 285.10.
