ITHACA N.Y. - The Cornell men's track and field team opened up it's season as host to the Greg Page Relays in Barton Hall.
Smith Charles,
Tomas Kersulis, and
Domenic Barresi produced a strong outing in the 60m finals taking second through fourth place respectively.
Jeff Yang took first place in the 500m final, followed by
Jack Daly (3rd), and
Robert Enck (9th).
Ten Big Red runners took the course for the men's 300m finals including five finishing in the top-10, with Kersulis leading the way in first place with a time of 32.88, which ranks 14th all time in NCAA history. He was followed by Barresi (third), Joshua Gitten (fourth),
Christian Martin(seventh), and
Fabien De Silva (eighth).
Cornell runners took first through sixth place in the 1000m, led by
Sam Ayers.
Three of the top five finishing groups in the 4x400 were from the Big Red finishing in first, second and fifth.
Brad Morell and
Phil Coppolino finished first and second respectively in the weight throw.
Daniel Mikay was just outside of the top ten in 11th place.
Charles placed third in the long jump, with
Justin Wei (eighth) and
Jelani Williams (10) accompanying him in the top ten.
Shane Racey took first place in the pole vault followed by
Vicentejordan Vanderlipe in second place.
Williams finished the triple jump in third place, with Williamson right behind him in fourth.
Charles (first),
Patrick Brewer (T-fifth), and Gabe Ball (T-fifth) all placed in the top-five for the high-jump.
Brad Morell (first place) and
Noah Harman (second place) were the two representatives for the Big Red in the shot put.
Next Up
The Big Red's next competition will come on Jan. 14, when they play host to the Southern Tier Invite at Barton Hall.
