ITHACA, N.Y. — Fresh off of a sweep of Army West Point and Boston University last weekend, the Cornell women's tennis team will look to extend its winning streak to five matches when it starts Ivy League competition at Columbia. The Big Red takes on the 38th-ranked Lions at 1 p.m. Saturday at Life Time Athletic Westchester in West Harrison.

The Big Red continued its midseason roll with a 4-0 decision over Army and a 5-2 against Boston University in its travels last weekend. The clincher against the Black Knights came from the #3 spot in singles, when sophomore Lauren Stein forced the third set and easily overcame her opponent to secure the final point. Stein prevailed again the next day against the Terriers, cruising to another singles victory.

Also on Sunday, sophomore Jenny Wong never trailed in her singles match, dropping her opponent from the #5 spot. Continuing her strong performances this season, freshman Lan Mi improved to 9-1 in duals from the first position in the win over BU. Rounding out the victories from the first three singles spots was senior Katherine Ngyuen at #2.

Columbia (10-5) is coming off of a close loss to 40th-ranked San Diego on Friday. Saturday's result will break a tie in the all-time series between the programs, with both the Big Red and the Lions tied at 21 victories apiece against one another. The in-state rivals' last completed dual was in the 2018-19 season, with the victory going to Columbia.
