ITHACA, N.Y. – Hot off a sweep of Colgate to complete its first win of the dual season, the Cornell women's tennis team will take on Buffalo at 3 p.m. Friday at Reis Tennis Center in Ithaca.
Cornell (1-7) improved to 16-0 all-time against Colgate last Saturday, to 16-0 after dropping just a total of two games across the three doubles matches before rolling to straight-set victories in all six singles tilts. Freshman
Lan Mi continued to impress in the #1 spot with a 6-1 record, while sophomore
Jenny Wong registered a second straight singles win.
Buffalo (10-2) carries a national ranking of 72nd into the weekend, having most recently secured a 7-0 victory over Binghamton. The Bearcats were due to be the Big Red's second opponent this weekend, but that match has been postponed until 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 30 due to an impending winter storm.
Cornell is 4-2 all-time against Buffalo, with the most recent meeting ending in favor of the Big Red, 4-3.
