ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell women's tennis team will look to bounce back after its first Ivy League loss of the season when it takes on upstate foe Binghamton on Wednesday, Paril 13 at 6 p.m. at the Reis Tennis Center in Ithaca. Then, Cornell gets back to Ivy League play when they battle No. 62 Yale on Saturday and Brown on Sunday, both at 12 p.m. at the Reis Tennis Center.
Freshman Lan Mi continued her dominance on the court over the weekend against Dartmouth and Harvard, winning both of her singles matches from the No. 1 spot. The Big Red rallied from a 3-2 deficit against the Big Green, with sophomores Laura Stein and Jenny Wong earning key decisions to clinch the victory. in the 4-3 victory. It then dropped a close 4-2 contest to the Crimson on Sunday despite Lan Mi and Laura Stein continuing to find succes, winning their singles matches from the No.1 spot and No.3 spot, respectively.
Binghamton (0-21) has lost all of its games this season, but will look to end the campaign on a high note when it complete dual meet season on Wednesday. Cornell leads the overall series against the Bearcats 19-2, with the last matchup coming in January 2019 that resulted in a 6-1 victory for the Big Red.
Yale (11-8) also recorded its first Ivy loss of the season over the weekend to move to 2-1 in Ivy League play, but the Bulldogs lead the series with the Big Red 32-8. The Bulldogs prevailed against the Big Red when they met at the ECAC Indoor Championship matchup in February. Brown (6-12) has yet to win an Ivy League competition, but leads the overall matchup 30-12. Their last meeting was during the 2020 ECAC Indoor Championships when Brown blanked Cornell, 4-0.
