NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Yale rallied for three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to tie the game, then plated a walk-off run in the 10th inning to earn a series win over Cornell with a 10-9 victory on Sunday afternoon at 5K Corral Field. The Bulldogs improved to 10-21 (8-10 Ivy), while Cornell fell to 12-17 (4-8 Ivy).
Cornell scored eight runs in the first five innings to stake itself to an 8-1 lead, but the Bulldogs chipped away and finally caught the Big Red in its last at bat of regulation. A great relay play from the outfield kept the Big Red going, but it couldn't find a run in the extra innings.
Lilly Travieso was 3-for-5 with two doubles and four RBI, while
Emily McKinney had a hit, two walks and three runs scored.

Allison Kerce, and
Olivia Rooney blasted a home run, her second of the year. The Big Red was hurt by four errors, allowing the Bulldogs a pair of unearned runs that proved to be the difference in the game.
Maxine McCraw took the hard-luck loss, allowing three hits and one run over the final 2.1 innings in the circle.
Maddie Latta pitched 5.1 innings on four-hit ball, allowing on unearned run to pick up her fifth win of the year. Carolyn Skotz was the hero, driving in the game winner with a double with one out in the 10th inning for the walk-off victory.
Cornell will play a non-conference doubleheader against Colgate on Tuesday, April 26 at 3 p.m. at Niemand*Robison Field.
