Men's Tennis Kicks Off Quest For Ivy Title At Home vs. Dartmouth, Harvard

ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell men's tennis team will begin its quest for the 2022 Ivy League championship when it hosts Ivy foes Dartmouth (Saturday, April 9) and Harvard (Sunday, April 10) with first serve of both matches at 1 p.m. at the Reis Tennis Center. The Big Red brings an 11-5 record into the seven-match sprint for the conference crown.

The Big Red is one of five nationally ranked Ivy squads, including Harvard, ranked No. 14 in the March 23 ITA team rankings. The Crimson are the top-ranked squad among the Ancient Eight teams and features 

In singles, #22 Henry Schulenberg, #51 Harris Walker and #70 Brian Shi are all ranked nationally atop the lineup. The doubles team of Daniel Milavsky and Shi (No. 24) also sits in the top 25 nationally for the Crimson (10-4). Harvard had an April 2 contest with Dartmouth on the slate before facing Columbia on Saturday, April 9 before visiting the Big Red the following day. Dartmouth is 8-6 on the year entering its Ivy opener at the Crimson.

Alafia Ayeni is 13-5 from the No. 1 singles position this season and is ranked No. 41 in the latest ITA rankings, while his tandemi with Vladislav Melnic (12-3) sits 31st in the country.
