About the Big Red

• The Big Red are seeking for its first 3-0 start to a season since 2018. Cornell has previously opened a season with three consecutive wins 11 times since 1946.

• Dating back to last season, the Big Red are unbeaten in its last four games and have won 13 of its last 18 games, posting a 13-3-2 record (.778 win percentage) in that span.

• Sophomore forward Alioune Ka has scored a goal in both of the Big Red's games to open the campaign. He is the first Big Red player to log goals in Cornell's first two games of a season since his teammate, Emeka Eneli, did so during his freshman year in 2018.

• With a goal in Saturday's match, Ka would become the third Big Red player on record to score in Cornell's first three games of a season. George Boateng (1951 - four goals in first three games) and Cornell Hall of Famer Nikos Alexandridis, who scored eight goals in the Big Red's first four games in 1967, are the others to accomplish the feat. Alexandridis earned first team All-America, All-Ivy, and All-New York State honors that year.

California Love

• Cornell opened its season with a pair of victories over UC Santa Barbara on Sept. 2 and UC Irvine on Monday.

• Monday's victory over UC Irvine solidified a sweep of the Big Red's two-game California road trip. It marked the second time in program history that Cornell swept a pair of road games in the Golden State, joining the 2012 squad who beat Cal St. Fullerton, 2-1, and Loyola Marymount, 2-0.

• Dating back to the 2012 season, Cornell has won five out of its last six games in California.

It's Been 30 Years…

• Freshman goalkeeper Ryan Friedberg was named the Ivy League's Rookie of the Week on Tuesday afternoon following his four-save performance at UC Santa Barbara last Friday.

• Friedberg is the second Cornell goalkeeper to earn Rookie of the Week honors by the Ivy League since the conference began handing out the honor in 1990. Quinn O'Sullivan (Oct. 12, 1992) was the lone Big Red first-year goalkeeper to earn the honor prior to Friedberg.

• In his two appearances this season, Friedberg has a 2-0 record with a 0.50 goals against average an .850 save percentage.

Scouting the Hawks

• Saint Joseph's enters Saturday's match with an 0-1-2 record, having played all three of its contests on the road.

• After dropping its season-opener to Navy, 1-0, on Aug. 25, Saint Joseph's have played a pair of 1-1 draws against Boston University on Sept. 2 and Delaware on Tuesday.

• Philipp Wujewitsch scored against Boston University and James Fletcher scored the Hawks' lone goal against Delaware. Omry Perel and Garrett Lyons have logged assists for Saint Joseph's.

Tyler Bagley scored the first goal for the Big Red in the 20th minute on a free kick from the top of the 18-yard box. Brady McSwain made a career-high seven saves in the victory.
