PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Cornell men's swimming and diving team fell to Brown, 212.5-87.5 in the final road meet of the regular season. The Big Red tallied 13 top-three finishes, including three first place finishes.
The Big Red opened the day with a third place finish in the 200 yard Medley Relay with a time of 1:30.97 swam by
Jack Banks,
Sebastian Wolff,
Jeremy Marcin, and
Will Taner. The Big Red would not earn another podium finish until Wolff swam a 55.18 second 100 yard Breaststroke, good for second place. his time was just .27 seconds behind the first place Brown finisher.
Wolff's second place finish would spark six-straight podium finishes.
Joseph Gurski earned the first top of the podium finish of the day, winning the 200 yard Butterfly with a time of 1:48.14.
Mac Marsh would continue the momentum with a third place finish in the 50 yard Freestyle at 20.98, just .06 second behind second. The Swimming events paused briefly for the 1 meter dive, where
Soodong Kim placed second with a score of 315.45. Wolff then earned his third podium finish of the day, touching the wall at 45.49 in the 100 yard Freestyle.
Pietro Ubertalli would get in on the action with a second place finish in the 200 yard Backstroke at 1:50.45.
Jack Valiquette would round out the stretch with a third place finish in the 200 yard Breaststroke at 2:05.45.
For the second straight meet, Cornell would have a perfect first place tie in an event, this time in the 100 yard Butterfly when Gurski and Brown swimmer Chris Ma finished the race at 48.81 seconds.
Matthew Warren would wrap up second in the three meter to close out the diving portion, earning a score of 308.40. Wolff earned the third first-place finish for the Big Red, finishing the 200 yard IM at 1:48.98, while
Reid Brophy wrapped up third in the same event, touching the wall at 1:51.58. The Big Red day ended with a second place finish by Banks, Gurski, Marsh, and
Daniel Simoes in the 400 yard Freestyle Relay with a time of 3:01.80.
