ITHACA, N.Y. --

Cornell fell to 8-11 (1-5 Ivy), while Harvard improved to 11-7 (4-2 Ivy), moving to fourth in the league.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Harvard was first on the boards after winning the jump ball, but
Kaya Ingram had the answer to take the first Cornell lead with a three pointer at 8:26. The Crimson would storm back with an 8-0 run to force a Big Red timeout at 6:31.
Ania McNicholas would get the Big Red back on the scoring block at 6:15 with a floater. Harvard would expand to a 14-5 run before Cornell hit an unanswered run of 7-0 to trail just 14-12. The teams would close the quarter with back-and-forth play, with Harvard leading 23-20 at the break.
Harvard tallied the first points of the second quarter with a quick layup at 9:34, but both teams would hit a scoring drought for the next 3:42 of game time. Pape would then spark an 8-2 Big Red run, with her being responsible for all 8 points to take a 28-27 lead. Harvard would regain the lead after two hit free throws and go on to score one more layup to close the half with a 31-28 Crimson lead. Neither team tallied double-digits in the seconds, each only tallying eight.
Cornell had hot hands to open the seconds half of play, barreling out to a 7-0 run in the first 2:36 of play to take a 35-31 lead. Harvard was seemingly unfazed by the Big Red run, responding with 11 unanswered points, holding Cornell off the score board until
Summer Parker-Hall hit a deep three with 2:04 to go in the period. One more free throw was all Cornell could tally in the third, while Harvard pulled away to a 46-39 lead.
The Big Red battled hard in the fourth quarter, but a 5-of-16 scoreline from the field never allowed Cornell with eight of the Crimson, while Harvard would go perfect for three in the fourth quarter, in addition to making eight free throws.
Shannon Mulroy tallied the third-most Cornell points in the outing with seven, followed by Parker-Hall's six, McNicholas's five, and
Anna Hovis's two.
Mia Beam and
Val Garcia-Martinez would also make appearances for the Big Red.
