The Crimson jumped out to a 1-0 lead 14 seconds from puck drop after a goal from Anne Bloomer, but was matched 20 seconds later with a Big Red goal from Chan. Jockims netted the puck from

Van Gelder knotted the game at 3-3 with her early second period goal. Bloomer put in her third Harvard goal of the night in response, notching a hat trick. Cornell and Harvard went goal-for-goal for the remainder of the period, ultimately giving the Crimson a 6-5 lead heading into the final period of play.
Shannon Hollands extended Harvard's lead to 7-5 five minutes into the third period. The Big Red went with an empty net during a power play, giving them a six-on-four advantage. Van Gelder was able to register the Big Red goal during the advantage, giving Cornell one last chance as time winded down.
In a game that never lacked pace and scoring, it was the Crimson's defense in the final 30 seconds of play that pushed them to victory as Alex Pellici made two key saves in the net to close out the game.
