#10 Women's Hockey Outlasts RPI 1-0 In Defensive Battle

ITHACA N.Y. - #10 women's ice hockey outlast RPI 1-0 in a defensive battle on Saturday at Lynah Rink behind a 14 save shutout from junior goaltender Deanna Fraser.

RPI scored what seemed to be the first goal of the contest midway through the opening period, but was called off for an offside infraction which lead to a scoreless first period.

Nearly eight minutes into the second period, Leah MacSween netted the opening goal of the game assisted by Izzy Daniel and Lily Delianedis.

Both teams held there own in the final period of play despite each committing third period penalties, as the Big Red would hold on to defend home ice.

Fraser registered her second shutout of the season, with her first one coming in the 3-0 victory against Mercyhurst.
