Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Harris, Ka Tally Multi-Goal Games, Men's Soccer Rolls Past Princeton, 5-1

ITHACA, N.Y. - The Cornell men's soccer earned it's first Ivy League win of the season, taking down Princeton 5-1 on a rainy Saturday evening at Berman Field in front of an active array of Big Red alumni and fans. Cornell freshman all-time goals leader Alex Harris and junior forward Alioune Ka netted two goals apiece, along with freshman forward Balazs Feher finding the back of the net for a tally. The Big Red moved to 6-3-2, while the Tigers dropped to 4-6-1.

A blazing fast start saw three first half goal go Cornell's way. Feher, Harris (penalty-kick), and Ka were the culprits of the first half scores. The shot discrepancy was evident, with Cornell holding that advantage 14-3 going into the break.

Half way through out the second half Harris and Ka put in their second goals of the game, coming less than one minute apart to stretch Cornell's lead to five. With his score, that gives Harris seven multi-point games to date this year, four of which were multi-goal.

Nico Nee took advantage of a penalty kick opportunity seconds later for the Tigers, but the lead would prove to be to large as the Big Red ran away with the victory.

Ryan Friedberg returned to the net, earning his first win between the pipes since defeating Syracuse earlier this year.

"We were on our front foot for the majority of the game and did our best to continually ask questions of Princeton's back line. I thought we created a number of really good chances today and scored some very good goals. We look forward to playing a strong Binghamton squad on Tuesday", John Smith, the Dr. Daniel P. Wood Head Coach of Men's Soccer mentioned.
