ITHACA, N.Y. -- Take a look back at Cornell football's 21-13 loss to Bucknell this past weekend.
PLAYER NOTES
• With 4,194 yards of total offense, junior quarterback Jameson Wang became the ninth player at Cornell to surpass 4,000 yards and currently stands eighth.
• Wang has scored six rushing touchdowns in the team's past four games.
• His 18 career rushing touchdowns is now tied for ninth all-time at Cornell and is tied for first among quarterbacks with Gary Wood '64.
• Wang's 40 touchdowns accounted for (18 rushing, 22 passing) ranks sixth on the school's career list, two behind Dalton Banks '19 to join the top five.
• With 1,155 rushing yards for his career, Wang moved into 27th place on the school's career list. Next up is Bo Roberson '58 (1,165), Pete Fitzpatrick '94 (1,179), Dick Jackson '56 (1,181) and Evan Simmons '02 (1,210).
• Wang also upped his career passing yardage total to 3,039 yards, making him the 10th player in school history to reach the 3,000-yard milestone.
• Wang career scoring total of 112 points to sit 19th in school history. His next touchdown would vault him to 15th.
• With his PAT kick, senior kicker Jackson Kennedy is now 34-for-34 for his career. Only AJ Weitsman '06, at 42-for-42, has made more without a miss all-time at Cornell.
• With 85 career points, Kennedy is up to 10th place all-time in kicking points where he's tied with Trevor MacMeekin '05.
• Kennedy's 35-yard field goal as time expired to end the first half means the senior has now ended four of the past seven halves of play with a walk-off kick.
• Kennedy's 10 field goals is tied for seventh-most in a single season at Cornell and is four shy of AJ Weitsman's record of 14 from 2005.
• Kennedy's 17 field goals in the past two seasons currently is the fourth-most over a two-year span at Cornell, with Mike Cochrane (1992-92) and Peter Zell (2006-07) both making 19 attempts.
• With 39 points through five games, Kennedy sits 20th in a season at Cornell. If he matches his total from the first half of the season, Kennedy would surpass Brad Greenway's single-season kick
scoring record of 75 points from 2011.
• With his 65-yard punt, Kennedy is the first player in school history to post three punts of at least 65 yards in the same season.
• Senior linebacker Connor Henderson's 10 tackles upped his career total to 92 and is eight shy of becoming the 141st player at Cornell to reach that milestone.
• After compiling four catches for 89 yards against Bucknell, senior wide receiver Nicholas Laboy surpassed 50 career catches (51), becoming the 56th player at Cornell to do so. He also upped his career receiving total to 739 yards (42nd all-time).
• Senior defensive back Paul Lewis III recorded his first career sack and forced fumble.
• Sophomore safety Trey Harris had 1.5 tackles for loss against Bucknell, meaning all 3.0 of his stops behind the line of scrimmage have come over the past three contests.
• Freshman kicker Alan Zhao attempted his first career kickoff, reaching the end zone on his 60-yard boot.
TEAM NOTES
• Cornell's first quarter interception was its first in six games spanning 187 passing attempts, including the first 157 throws of 2023
• The Big Red has now connected on 69 consecutive PAT kicks as a team, the last 34 by Jackson Kennedy.
• The Big Red is 10-of-12 on field goals so far this season, while opponents are 0-for-4 with one kick blocked.
• Cornell has scored on 18-of-20 trips to the red zone this season, including 16 consecutive after going 2-for-2 vs. Bucknell.
• Cornell's 83 tackles are the most in a non-conference game for the Big Red since also posting 83 in the 2017 opener at Delaware.
