Women's Basketball Completes The Season Sweep Over The Big Green

NEW HANOVER, N.H. -- Kaya Ingram led Cornell women's basketball to a 53-40 victory over Dartmouth in Hanover, N.H., on Friday, February 17. Ingram tied two of her season-highs with 18 points and nine rebounds. Cornell held the Big Green's 40 points marks the fewest scored by it in Ivy play this season, and the win completes the first season sweep over Dartmouth for Cornell since the 2013-14 season.

Ingram was joined by Emily Pape in scoring double-digits. Pape had 14 points, marking her third straight game in double digits, and the ninth out of her last 10.

Dartmouth also had two players tally double-digits in Victoria Page (13) and Mia Curtis (11).

It took just four seconds for Cornell to get on the boards when Ania McNicholas swiped the loose ball off the jump to make a layup. Cornell built a 8-0 lead with 6:26 remaining in the first quarter in large part due to five points from Ingram. The Big Red held Dartmouth scoreless through more than seven minutes of game clock, but a Big Green layup at 2:52 made it an 8-2 game. Mia Beam ended the Big Red's scoring drought with a good jump shot at six seconds left in the quarter, closing the quarter with a 10-2 Cornell lead.

The second quarter ended with both teams adding 12. Ingram added five more points to bring her first half total to 10.

Scoring in the third quarter opened with a steal and layup for Shannon Mulroy, but Dartmouth had the answer 28 second later with a jump shot. Dartmouth cut to lead to seven at 26-19 with 6:48 remaining in the third, and even further to six at 28-22 just over five minutes into the quarter. Pape helped power the Big Red to a game-high 14 point lead over Dartmouth to close the third quarter 37-23.

The Big Green fought to trail by nine 50 seconds into the fourth quarter, and again at the 5:23 with a score of 42-33. The Big Red never again let the Big Green back within 10, closing the game on an 11-7 run.
