ITHACA, N.Y. — The No. 24-ranked Cornell men's tennis team completed the sweep of its three-game weekend homestand with a 4-2 victory over No. 30-ranked Oklahoma State on Sunday afternoon.
Cornell (11-1), who has won its last four matches, is off to its best 12-game start since also going 11-1 to open the 2017 spring slate.
Oklahoma State claimed the doubles point after posting 6-1 and 6-4 respective victories at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions. Cornell's sophomore tandem of
Adit Sinha and
Nathan Mao won at the top doubles position, 6-4.
Senior
Vladislav Melnic was the lone singles match of the day to finish in two sets as he defeated Ferguson, 7-6 (5), 6-2, to even the match at 1-all.
Mao and junior
Samuel Paquette claimed three-set victories at the No. 5 and 6 positions to give Cornell a 3-1 edge.
Freshman
Petar Teodorovic fell to Alex Garcia in three sets, 4-6, 7-6 (3), 6-3, which brought the Cowboys within one point.
Sophomore
Radu Papoe edged Tyler Zink with a 6-2 set victories that were between a marathon second set that favored Zink, 7-6 (10).

Looking Ahead
No. 24-ranked Cornell will return to action when its head to the Lonestar State to take on SMU on March 10 in Dallas. The match against the Mustangs at the Styslinger / Altec Tennis Complex is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET.
