LINCOLN, Neb. — The Cornell men's tennis team continued its season-opening win streak on Saturday afternoon, defeating Nebraska, 4-1, at the Sid and Hazel Dillon Tennis Center.
Nebraska took the opening point after registering victories at the top two doubles matches. Junior
Samuel Paquette and freshman
Petar Teodorovic were the lone Big Red tandem to win in doubles, claiming a 7-5 victory at the No. 3 spot.
In singles action, it was all Cornell as the Big Red won the first four matches – all in straight sets – to claim the victory.

Jack McCarthy (No. 6) were the Cornellian quartet with the victories.
Papoe won the first set of his match in a tiebreak, 7-6 (2), before winning 6-3 to earn the victory over 75th-ranked Roni Hietaranta.
Teodorovic and Sinha each won their respective matches with a pair of 6-4 victories. McCarthy, who is ranked No. 116, dropped just five points en route to the victory.
Matches involving
Vladislav Melnic (No. 2) and
Nathan Mao (No. 5) went unfinished due to the already determined result for the Big Red.
Looking Ahead
Cornell will continue its road trip in the Central time zone on Sunday when it travels to Des Moines, Iowa, to face Drake. Doubles action is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. CT.
