ITHACA, N.Y. — A trio of Cornell women's squash players earned All-America honors earlier this week it was announced by the College Squash Association.

Senior Sivasangari Subramaniam was the lone Big Red representative on the First Team, as fellow senior Wen Li Lai and freshman Aishwarya Khubchandani were named Second Team All-Americans.

Subramaniam, who earned her fourth First Team All-America award, was also named one of three finalists for the Betty Richey Award — the highest honor awarded by the College Squash Association.

"Siva has exemplified the ideals of squash completely," the Cornell coaching staff consisting of David Palmer and Mark Burke, told the College Squash Association. "Siva has carried herself this season, and throughout her four years as a student-athlete, with humility, fairness, and respect for every player that she has taken to the court with. Not once in her four years have you seen her treat an opponent unfairly or noticeably question referees. Her fairness and sportsmanship have been an inspiration to many, if not all, student-athletes. She has shown that you can be hard, but fair and carry yourself on court with grace."

The other two finalists for the Betty Richey Award are Princeton's Andrea Toth and Drexel's Alina Bushma.

In her final collegiate season, Subramaniam was 11-1 on the year, exclusively at the No. 1 position. She fell in the Ramsay Cup final to Columbia's Chan Sin Yuk, as she was seeking her second consecutive national championship.

Lai posted a team-high 13 wins on the year for Cornell, who finished the year with a 9-8 overall record and a 5-2 record in Ivy League matches. Lai was a perfect 5-0 in matches at the top position on the ladder, and went 8-4 in matches at the No. 2 position.

Khubchandani, who won the Holleran Cup West title at the 2023 College Squash Association National Individual Championships on March 5, was 11-5 on the year for the Big Red, spending time between the No. 2 and No. 3 positions. The first-year player was 4-0 in matches at the No. 2 spot and 7-5 at the No. 3 position.
