ITHACA, N.Y. — The Cornell women's tennis team continues its four-match homestand at the Reis Tennis Center when it welcomes Columbia to the Reis Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon to open Ivy League play.
Doubles action between the Big Red and Lions is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m.
Winners of its last two matches, Cornell (3-10) is looking to continue its strong play as of late, as the Big Red has dropped just one point in its last two matches.
Cornell swept Duquesne, 7-0, on Feb. 27 before beating Central New York rival Colgate on March 12, 6-1.
Scouting Columbia
Columbia enters this weekend's match with a 6-6 overall record. The Lions won its last match against Florida Atlantic, 5-2, last Friday in Boca Raton, Fla.
Cornell defeated then-ranked No. 43 Columbia, 4-3, last year in New York behind victories from
Lan Mi (No. 1),
Katherine Nguyen (No. 2), and
Jenny Wong (No. 6) in singles.
The Big Red will be hosting Columbia for the first time since March 30, 2019, as Cornell is seeking for its first win streak over the Lions since winning six straight matches spanning from 2007-10.
Looking Ahead
Cornell continues its homestand with a match against another geographical rival when it welcomes Binghamton to Ithaca. Action between the Big Red and Bearcats is slated to begin at 9 a.m.
