BOSTON, MA -Â Â Men's track and field traveled to Boston, MA this weekend for competitions at the ECAC Championships. Cornell finished sixth among 43 teams.
Smith Charles (long jump) , Vincentejordan Vanderlipe (pole-vault), and
Dylan Rodgers (pole-vault)Â played a vital role in the 35-point outing for the Big Red.Â
Charles registered a third-place triple-jump tally of 7.13 meters, giving Cornell a solid point boost. Vanderlipe and Rodgers stood atop the pole-vault rankings, notching identical 5.00-meter scores which stands as a new personal best for Vincentejordan.Â
Alex Mocarski ran his all-time fastest time in the mile (4:05.34), giving him a fourth place finish.
Jake Gelfand (8:27.18) and
Andy O'Brien (8:27.26) surpassed their best career completion in the 3000-meter run.Â
Joshua Gittens finished fourth in the 400-meter dash (48.59 seconds).
Next Action
Tomas Kersulis will represent the Big Red at the NCAA Championships next weekend in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Kersulis gets set to compete in the 400-meter dash. He ran his best time this season at the Valentine Invitational (45.78 seconds) which is among the best times in the world.
