Taylor Woods Claims Strongwoman World Championship

ITHACA, N.Y. - Former Big Red women's ice hockey skater Taylor Woods claimed the world championship at the 2023 Arnold Amateur Strongwoman World Championships. Woods was a member of the Big Red from 2012 to 2016, providing versatility to Cornell's lines with her ability to play forward as well as protect the blue-line. Taylor registered 81 career points coming by way of 33 goals and 48 assists. The Big Red were crowned ECAC Hockey champions in three of her four seasons on East Hill. 

The Canadian standout put up 22.65 points during her dominant performance at the Strongwoman World Championships. She registered a farmer's walk of 26.03 seconds, 17 viking press reps, 18.46 seconds on the arm-over-arm pulls, five in 37.99 seconds (loading race), 48 kilogram dumbbell press, 16 Ukranian deadlift reps, and 52.95 seconds on the power stairs. Taylor displayed an impressive level of athleticism and strength en route to a first-place finish in the championships.
