Rory Guilday celebrates world championship victory with Team USA

Guilday Earns Gold at IIHF World Championship

ONTARIO, CANADA - Big Red defensewoman Rory Guilday earns gold at the IIHF World Championship as a representative of USA. The USA National Team captured the victory against Canada on Sunday April 16th in a high-scoring contest, 6-3. Guilday was one of six Cornelians taking part in the championship action, with five Big Red alumnus representing their Canadian roots.

Brienne Jenner, Rebecca Johnston, Jaime Bourbonnais, Micah Zandee-Hart, and Kristin O'Neill earned silver as Team Canada representatives. Sarah Knee competed for the Hungarian National Team during the IHFF World Tournament.

The Everett Family Head Coach of Cornell Women's Ice Hockey, Doug Derraugh, stood behind the bench for the Canadian National Team as an assistant coach. The Big Red representation on this world stage is a testament to what Derraugh has been able to build on East Hill at Cornell.
