Columbia Rallies Big Red Twice For Doubleheader Sweep

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Cornell softball traveled to the Big Apple to challenge Ivy-League partner Columbia in a three-game series. The Lions pulled out victories in both games of the Saturday doubleheader. Columbia faced early deficits in both contests, but found a way to come out on top. The Big Red dropped the first game in extra-innings, 5-3. Columbia ran away with a 6-3 win in the second game.

Game One
Cornell opened up the game with a two run homer from Emma Antich. Kate Callaway went on to bat in Lily Travieso, pushing the Big Red out to an early 3-1 lead. Columbia registered a pair of runs to send the game to extra innings. The Lions completed their rally with two runs in the eighth-inning to earn a victory in game one.

Game Two
The Cornelians go off to another good start, registering an early run from Celia Macari. Emma Antich duplicated her performance from game one, smashing a two-run homer to boost the Cornell lead to 3-0. Columbia came storming back, rattling off six straight runs to pull off it's second come-from-behind victory on the day.
