DURHAM, N.C. - Men's track and field traveled south for the Duke Invitational with plans to continue their climb in the Ivy-League standings and build upon its second-place regional ranking.
Vicentejordan Vanderlipe served as a major catalyst toward that goal, besting all pole-vaulters in group B, and setting a personal-best with his 5.05-meter mark.
Shane Racey was the pole-vault runner-up in group A, launching his way to a 5.25-meter distance.
Jamaur Williamson had a strong outing, jumping 13.64 meters to earn second in the triple-jump.
The Big Red fielded a 4x100 relay group who took the second-place spot with a 41.46-second finish. The speedy hurdler
Christian Martin darted his way to a third-place result in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.24 seconds.
Justin Wei was right behind him in the fifth-place spot, multi-tasking the sprints and hurdles en route to a time of 14.64 seconds.
Alex Mocarski tallied his 1500-meter run all-time best count of 3:50.10, earning a sixth-place finish.
Brad Morell performed well, setting his personal-record in the discus-throw (53.77 meters) and placing in the top-10 of three events (discus, shot put, and hammer-throw).
