Inside Lacrosse Announces 2023 All-Americans

ITHACA, N.Y. -- Inside Lacrosse has announced its 2023 All-Americans, and CJ Kirst and Gavin Adler have been named to the first team. Adler is a two-time first-team honoree, and one of two first-team awardees to be a unanimous selection. Kirst, an honorable mention in 2022, was one of two athletes to miss unanimous selection to the first team by one vote.

Kirst finished the season with the most goals by a junior in Cornell history (65). He ranks number one in the nation in points per game (5.60) and goals per game (4.33). Kirst is ranks ninth in the Cornell record books in career goals after just two seasons, an dis six points off from the top-10 in career points at Cornell. His 65 single-season goals is tied for second most in Cornell history with Mike French, one shy of John Piatelli's record set last season. In the game against Hobart, he scored seven goals and notched four assists for 11 points, the most by any Ivy player this season.

Adler, who was the second defender ever to be drafted as the first overall pick in the PLL draft, concluded his Cornell career tied for fourth in the Big Red record books for caused turnovers (63). He is tied with associate head coach Jordan Stevens. In two of his three full seasons, Adler ranked in the top-10 in single-season caused turnovers with 25 in 2023, good for seventh, and 34 in 2022, tied for most all-time. Adler averaged the second most caused turnovers per game this year in the Ivy (1.67).
