PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- The Penn sprint football team limited Cornell to 120 yards of offense and used a late touchdown to pull away, earning a 21-9 triumph over the Big Red on Friday evening at Franklin Field. The Big Red fell to 0-2, while the Quakers evened their record at 1-1.
Jaden Queen intercepted two passes, broke up two more and had six tackles to lead a very game Big Red defense, which allowed just 263 yards itself. Max Delahunta posted a game-high 11 tackles with a sack.
Offensively, Marco Hernandez vaught a pair of passes for 32 yards, including an acrobatic 27-yard touchdown pass from
Cooper Wise. Wise was 9-of-23 passing for 78 yards and a touchdown, but was also intercepted twice.

Ryan Murphy blocked a Penn field goal attempt.
The Big Red defense did yeoman's work, allowing just a 1-yard touchdown to JT Goodman on the back of a five-play, 14-yard drive after a Big Red turnover late in the first quarter. The Big Red went 17 yards for its first half score, with Roberts booting a 36-yard field goal on the opening drive of the second quarter to get the visitors back to 7-3.
The Quakers went 92 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter to build its lead to two possessions, though Hernandez's acrobatic score put the Big Red back in position to get back in the game. A two-point conversion failed, leaving the score 14-9 in Penn's favor. Cornell got the ball back once more with an opportunity to take the lead, but went three-and-out and the Penn capitalized with a scoring drive that took the wind out of the Big Red's sails.
