ITHACA, N.Y. -- Sixteen players reached the scoring column as the Cornell men's basketball team extended its non-conference home win streak to 17 games following a 105-49 victory over local Division III foe Wells College on Tuesday evening at Newman Arena. The win sets up the 14-3 Big Red against a 15-1 Princeton squad for first place in the Ivy League on Saturday in Ithaca.

The Big Red put three players in double figures, as freshman Ian Imegwu and senior Max Watson each drilled four 3-pointers and junior Guy Ragland Jr. tallied 12 in just six minutes of action off the bench. Cornell shot 48 percent from the floor and made 17 3-pointers, tied for the fourth most in a game in school history. The 105 points marks the 10th time the Big Red has reached the century mark under head coach Brian Earl and the 31st time total in school history. The team's 28 assists is tied for sixth in a single game, while the 39 field goals made is tied for 12th. A total of 25 of the team's 51 rebounds came on the offensive glass, leading to a 32-6 edge in second chance points. Cornell also dominated in points off turnovers (33-2) and bench points (77-10).

No Cornell starter played more than 10 minutes, and none of the team's top 10 regulars saw more than 11 minutes. Both AK Okereke, making his first career start, and Jacob Beccles netted eight points apiece, while Evan Williams scored eight points with three rebounds, two assists and two steals. Adam Tsang Hinton notched a game-high seven rebounds, with Sean Hansen chipping in six as the Big Red held a 51-25 edge on the backboards. Fifteen players were credited with at least one assist, 16 ripped down a rebound and nine drilled a 3-pointer. Both Watson and Imegwu were 4-for-5 on the evening.

Wells placed three scorers in double figures and was led by John Bangel's 13 points. Chase Welch added 12 with four rebounds and Ransel Rodriguez notched 10 points, four rebounds and four assists. The Express shot 38 percent from the floor as a team but turned the ball over 21 times.



The Big Red raced out to a 14-0 lead and were never threatened, leading 52-28 at halftime and outscoring the Express 53-21 after the break. Everyone on the Big Red roster played at least six minutes as the Big Red prepared for a key Ivy home game against the defending Ivy champion and 2023 NCAA Sweet 16 participant Tigers. The win was Cornell's 30th consecutive non-conference win excluding guarantee games. Cornell had not played a midweek non-conference game during Ivy season since 2004 and upped its home record this season to 6-0. The Big Red is now 27-4 at Newman Arena over the past three seasons.
