CORNELL'S NUMBERS
Cornell is leading the conference in points per set (17.24), blocks per set (2.55), opp hitting percentage (.179) and team total blocks (158).
As for the individuals, Camryn Carlo is ranked 15th nationally in blocks per set and first in the conference, averaging 1.44 per set with 79 blocks total.
As a freshman, Mackenzie Parsons is 18th in the nation with a .411 hitting percentage and is one of three hitters with a hitting percentage above .400 in the conference.
Eliza Konvicka is second in the Ivy in kills per set (3.98) and points per set (4.70) behind Kamryn Chaney from Princeton in both (4.41) and (5.12).
Doga Ozalp is second in total assist with 590 on the season.
SCOUTING COLUMBIA
In the last meeting this season, Cornell reverse swept Columbia at home on Sept. 28 for their first win in the Ivy League this season. Columbia is yet to win an Ivy League match in the 2024 season. The Lions are coming off a sweep from Penn. The second set of the match ended at 34-32 Penn after 10 match points. Hailee Watts and Amanda Holsen led the Lions in kills with 15 each. Clara Yu had seven digs and set a career high with 35 assists in her last game.
PENN RECAP
Cornell beat Penn in four sets on Friday night. The Big Red racked up 66 total team kills, with Ozalp delivering an impressive career-high of 58 assists alongside 11 digs for her fifth double-double of the season.
Konvicka spearheaded the attack, posting a season-high 23 kills with a .245 hitting percentage, while also contributing eight digs and five blocks. Parsons shone with a career-best 19 kills at a .424 hitting percentage, along with seven blocks and three digs. Carlo added to the team's success, achieving a season-best nine kills (.333) and six blocks.
Defensively, Jackie Baker (14 digs), Sarita Pomar (12 digs), and Trinidy Tien (11 digs) all made significant contributions. Cornell hit for .469 in the first set, ultimately finishing the night at .276.
PRINCETON RECAP
Cornell fell to Princeton in their second match of the weekend after initially capturing the first set. Despite the loss, three Big Red players accounted for double-digit kills. Konvicka led with 17 kills, three aces and a block assist. Haley Clark and Parsons both totaled 11 over the four sets, with Parsons achieving her total on a .364 hitting percentage, along with an ace. Ozalp had another explosive night with 46 assists, nine digs and an ace.
