Harris' First-Half Hat-Trick Leads Big Red To 3-0 Victory Over Dartmouth

ITHACA, N.Y. - The Cornell men's soccer team defeated the Dartmouth Big Green 3-0 on Saturday evening at Berman Field. The Big Red improved to 7-1-2, while the Big Green dropped to 4-4-1.

Alex Harris registered all three Big Red goals, notching the first hat-trick of his Cornell career. Connor Miller (three), and Sam Latona were credited with helpers. Ryan Friedberg earned two saves and collected his fifth shutout of the season.

Harris began his slew of scoring at 20:54 when Miller found him in the box for the first time Saturday night. Harris then went on to score twice more within two and a half minute pan.

The second goal occurred at the 34:38-minute mark. Moments later, Harris found the back of the net again, when he made the feed from Latona and Miller count.

"I thought we strung together some really good passages of play in the first half and deserved to be entering half time in the lead. The connection between Connor and Alex led to three excellent goals", John Smith, the Dr. Daniel P. Wood Head Coach of Men's Soccer mentioned.

Cornell would play the second half strong on the defensive end to close out and hold the Big Green to zero goals. "We did a professional job closing the game out in the second half", coach Smith said.

Friedberg, earned the victory in net for the Big Red, moving his record to 7-1-2 on the year. "We now look forward to yet another top opponent next weekend when we head to Princeton", Smith concluded with.
