BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Cornell wrestling team opened their season at the Journeyman Classic on Sunday.
Eight wrestlers started their season undefeated while freshman Tyler Ferrara topped the 133A. Freshman Mikey Dellagatta dominated the 197B bracket with wins by fall, technical fall, and decision.
Simon Ruiz, Brett Ungar and Meyer Shapiro also competed in A brackets. Ungar and Ruiz finished second and Shapiro third.

125 C
Marcello Milani started his season 3-0 with wins over Ayden Smith (Rutgers), Louie Gill (NC State) and Luke Siriannl (Army West Point) to take first.
125 D
Joe Sciarrone picked up wins over Cody Tanner (Vmi) and Noah Tonsor (Army West Point) before falling 9-4 to Caelen Riley of Illinois.
125 E
Ernest Perry finished second and went 1-2 overall.
133 A
Tyler Ferrara claimed first place going 2-1 with wins over Alex Almeyda (Penn) and Nain Vazquez (Army West Point).
In Brett Ungar's first bouts in the 133-pound weight class he went 2-1, only falling to Lucas Byrd of Illinois 2-0.
133 C
Foster Cardinale went 2-1 with a win by fall over Braxton Fries-appello (Sacred Heart).
133 D
Ethan Qureshi was undefeated in the D pool with a win by fall over Jake Carlucci (Sacred Heart).

Myles Griffin finished second and went 0-3.

Carter Tate took first in his pool after defeating Colt Schrader (Army West Point) and Phoenix Alyea (Vmi). Tate was 2-1 with a loss to Gavin Linsman (NC State).

Nate Wade won all three of his matches to finish in first. He picked up a pair of major decisions over Drew Munch (Lehigh) and Mason Barvitskle (Army West Point).

Mac Calavitta went 2-2 with a win by fall over Jason Daleo (Sacred Heart).
Even with one loss to Koy Buesgens (NC State), Ethan Fernandez took first in his pool with wins over Tyler Tracy (NC State) and Zach Keal (Army West Point).

Meyer Shapiro lost to Jimmy Harrington (Harvard) 7-9 in his only match of the day.

Junior Brody Oleksak finished third place after losing to teammate Gage McClenahan.
Evan Canoyer went 1-2 with a 4-2 win over teammate Gage Mcclenahan.
McClenahan was defeated by teammate Evan Canoyer and Braeden Scoles of Illinois.

Kaleb Williams took second and went 1-2.

Buzzy Bomberger finished third and went 1-2 overall.

Simon Ruiz finished in second, falling to Nick Incontrera (Penn) in the first-place match. He won 2-1 over Luca Augustine (Pitt) and picked up a 19-4 technical fall over Jared Schoppe (Lehigh).

Christian Hansen won all three of his matches, including defeating Haden Bottiglieri of Harvard to take first in the B pool.

Colt Barley went undefeated in the B pool with wins over Ross Mcfarland (Hofstra) and Cael Valencia (Arizona State).
Senior Justin Mayes went 2-1 and took first with wins over Luke Rada (Harvard) and Braxton Lewis (Vmi).

Matt Furman finished second after winning two of his three bouts.

Zahir McLean-Felix won all three of his bouts with a 14-5 major decision over Logan Ritchey (Duke).

Mikey Dellagatta won all three of his bouts with a win by fall over Eli Pack (Army West Point), a 15-0 technical fall over Austin Kohlhofer (Army West Point) and 9-6 decision over Christin Knopp (NC State).

Eric Carlson went 1-2 overall and finished second.

Ashton Davis started with a perfect weekend defeating Matt Walker (Sacred Heart), Zach Delsanter (Penn) and Josh Evans (Vmi) to take first in the pool.

Freshman Aiden Compton went 2-1 in his first collegiate event. Compton took down Connor White (Sacred Heart) before falling to Conor Barkett (Duke) by major decision. He battled back to take first in his pool by defeating Brody Kline (Franklin&Marshall).
