ITHACA, N.Y. - Former Big Red standout Emeka Eneli was named the 2024 Most Valuable Player of Real Salt Lake. Eneli started in 33 of 35 MLS games this year, and was voted the MVP by his teammates. Eneli captured feats this season which included being the club's youngest player ever to man the captain's armband. His first professional goal came during the team's match against the Colorado Rapids.
"One of the things that stood out about Emeka in his time here as his reliability on the ball -- no matter the scenario you could give him the ball and it would stick with him. Watching him play for RSL in his second season you could see the growth in his level of confidence and, in turn, the faith his teammates had in him. Seeing his abilities translate at the professional level has been fun to watch. And for him to become the MVP in his sophomore year is wonderful, "
John Smith, the Dr. Daniel P. Wood Head Coach of Men's Soccer mentioned.
