MADISON, N.J. -- The Cornell fencing team got off to a near-perfect start at the Drew Invitational, going 6-0 and winning 83 percent of its individual bouts on Sunday afternoon. Head coach
Ariana Klinkov's team had 18 fencers compete on the day, with each of them finishing with a winning record.
The Big Red won 26-1 over both Wheaton and Haverford, but was equally impressive against Division I opponents Wagner, Lafayette, NJIT and LIU. The individual record of 110-22 on the day included a perfect 15-0 afternoon for
Brianna Lee with the foil.
Samantha Marsee's 11-0 day led a 39-3 afternoon for the sabre squad, while
Natalie Leung posted an 11-1 mark in epee.
Cornell returns to action on Sunday, Nov. 10 at the Vassar Invitational in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
