ITHACA, N.Y. - The Cornell men's soccer team defeated the Columbia Lions 4-1 on Saturday afternoon at Berman Field on senior night. The Big Red concluded its regular season with a 12-2-2 record.
Alex Harris (two),
Danny Lokko, and
Connor Miller registered Big Red goals in the game. Lokko,
Daniel Samways (two), Miller, Harris,
Giorgos Diakos,
Alioune Ka, and
Westin Carnevale were credited with assists in the game.
Cornell jumped out on the Lions, exploding for three first-half goals. Harris netted the first goal of the day at the 12:05-minute mark, when Samways found him for the tally.
Lokko doubled the Big Red's lead at the 26:21-minute mark. Five minutes later, Miller added another goal for Cornell.
Seven minutes into the second half, Harris found his second goal of the day to tack on insurance for the Big Red, extending the lead to 4-0.
Cy Sokolowski put one in the net for the Lions, but it would not be enough to stage a comeback as Cornell would run away with a 4-1 victory on senior night. Friedberg registered one save in the game, as he improved to 12-2-2 in net on the season.
