ITHACA, N.Y. —- Cornell women's basketball associate head coach Shannon Bush was named to the class of participants in the 2025 WBCA Next Generation Institute, which is a high-level education program for experienced assistant coaches who aspire to become collegiate head coaches.

The WBCA Next Generation Institute will be held in conjunction with the WBCA Convention, which will take place April 3-6 in Tampa, Fla.

For coaches to be eligible for selection to participate in the WBCA Next Generation Institute, they have to be a current WBCA member, have at least five years of experience as a college assistant coach and must be nominated for the program by their head coach.

Coach Bush is currently in her first year as a part of the Cornell women's basketball staff, serving as the associate head coach. She previously served as an assistant coach from 2006 to 2017 at four different colleges including Sacred Heart University, University of Vermont, Siena College and Fresno State University.

The Next Generation Institute is now in its third year as a program. The curriculum focuses on the CEO attributes that are needed in order to lead a program and be a problem-solver in today's constantly changing landscape of higher education and the world of intercollegiate athletics.
