NEW YORK -- The Cornell fencing team closed competition Sunday at the 2024 Ivy League Championships with a 15-12 victory over Brown to finish the weekend 1-5 overall, good for sixth overall. Cornell's finish matches its place from last season, in which the Big Red pulled out a decisive 19-8 record over then-No. 8 ranked Yale on the final day of competition.
Cornell's victory over the Bears was spearheaded by 6-3 showings in both epee and sabre. Senior Clarice Lim led the epee squad with a perfect 3-0 record, followed by sophomore Ketki Ketkar, who went 2-1. Ketkar also took home some individual hardware, earning an All-Ivy first team selection in epee, earning a 12-6 record on the weekend. Senior Stella Berman led the sabre squad against Brown, going unblemished with a 3-0 record to cap off an undefeated 6-0 over the two bouts on Sunday. Berman also garnered All-Ivy honors, earning a second team nod after finishing 12-5 overall to lead her weapon. Freshman Brianna Lee earned the best score of the day for epee at 2-2.
