Columbia Clinches Share of Ivy Title on Women's Hoops Senior Day

ITHACA, N.Y. -- Cornell women's basketball celebrated three seniors on Saturday afternoon, but Columbia came out with the victory on game day, winning 82-46. With the win, Columbia improved to 22-5 overall, including a 13-1 Ivy League record, clinching a share of the Ivy regular season title. Cornell fell to 7-19 on the season, and 1-13 in conference, finishing tied for seventh place in the Ivy with Dartmouth.

Senior Kaya Ingram ended her Cornell career with a bang tallying a team-high 14 points, dishing two assists, grabbing two steals, and four rebounds. She was the only Big Red to score double figures in the contest. Sophomore Emily Pape grabbed a team-high five boards and added a block. Freshman Azareya Kilgoe matched Ingram's assist to lead the team with two.

Columbia's Kitty Henderson led all scorers with 19 points and rebounders with 11 boards, followed by Riley Weiss, who tallied 17 points. Cecelia Collins put up 14 points including making 6-of-7 from the free throw line. Abbey Hsu was held to just 13 points, matching her second-fewest of the season. Fliss Henderson grabbed nine rebounds, the second-most of the contest.

Ingram got the first points of the day, but a 9-2 Columbia followed before Rachel Kaus began to score. The freshman scored the next four Cornell points that marked the beginning of the 8-6 Cornell run to close the first quarter. Cornell trailed by just three at the end of the first, and held the Ivy League's leading scorer, Abbey Hsu, to a single point.

Columbia used a 6-0 run and 5-0 run in the second to help widen the gap to lead 37-28 at halftime. The Cornell defense held Hsu to just one made field goal across the first half.

Columbia opened the third quarter with a made layup, moving its lead to double-digits. The Lions never let Cornell back within single digits, allowing just 18 points in the final two quarters while scoring 45.
